Kakera - A Piece of Our Life

Another random pick from the rental store but with all the right connections. Continuing with the Sakura Ando theme, this movie is directed by her sister, Momoko Ando, and is an adaption of an Erica Sakurazawa manga. It’s a funny drama about Haru who's floating between two relationships in a way she can’t seem to control. The new girl Riko (who works as a medical prosthetics artist) leads an eccentric life and carries a bizarre energy that I loved. The two get along well but for Haru the concept of love fogs her mind. On a personal level I recently dated someone very similar to Haru so the experience hit home for me.
