The Terrorizers

(1986, Edward Yang)

The pacing in this movie is amazing. Each scene lasts about two deep breaths and a half. Part of you thinks the shots are lasting too long but then another part thinks, “Wait! Did I miss something in that scene? Go back!” And the scenes themselves are so beautiful! The stories follows 3 plots, centered around various amorale characters and when I began painting, I had no idea which scene to replicate since there were so many good ones. The lasting mystery I have with the film is the casting for one the female leads which is simply credited as "White Chick".
