Chungking Express

(1994, Wong Kar-Wai)

I didn’t realize Faye Wong was the lead actress until watching Tarantino talk about the cast in an interview after the film ended. In fact it is her very first starring film. A lot of the movie shows Wong's character serving this police officer at a coffee stand. He's lovesick about his ex. I will say I never wanna hear the song California Dreamin’ again for the rest of my life because of the excess use of it in this film. Wong’s cover of The Cranberries I could hear more of though.

A close-up screenshot of a confident woman in sunglasses and a blonde wig looking off-camera. From the film 'Chungking Express'. An animated gif of a scene from the film 'Chungking Express' of a police officer drinking coffee at a standing coffee shop as people pass by. A psychedelic screenshot from the movie 'Chungking Express' of a young woman in sunglasses and short black hair. The right half of the image is a warped reflection of her on stainless steel wall.
